A passion for investing led Jim, in partnership with his father, to found Butler Associates Financial Planners in 1987. After a 22-year management career with Monsanto. Decades later, Jim has the privilege of continuing to work with numerous clients of his late father.
With a master’s degree in financial services from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., and professional designations of CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), and AEP (Accredited Estate Planner), Jim provides crucial investment planning, insurance/tax planning, and retirement/estate planning advice for individuals and small business owners. Membership in the St. Louis chapters of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Financial Planning Association, and the Estate Planning Council further enhance his credentials. Jim has served as president of the St. Louis Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
A native of St. Louis, Jim enjoys traveling with his wife and high school sweetheart, Diane; teeing up on the golf course; and playing an active role in his church and community. They have three children and three grandchildren.
